Guided tours of Culloden battlefield
The Battle of Culloden - the last battle to be fought on British soil was fought on Culloden moor on April 16th 1746, between the Jacobites - the supporters of Prince charles Edward Stuart "Bonnie Prince Charlie" and the government troops of Charles the 1st. Costumed guided tours of Culloden battlefield will be running from June until the end of September. Costumed guides will re-create those final moments, when the Jacobite army were slaughtered by government troops. Tours leave from the Culloden National Trust Centre and each tour lasts one hour.
MYTHS and LEGENDS LATE NIGHT WALKING TOURS
A Costumed guide will tell some of the famous ghostly tales associated with Culloden and the Jacobites (tour not suitable for very young children). Tickets can be obtained from the National Trust Centre Culloden, on the evening of the tour. The tour takes 1 hour and 15 minutes.
